How deep do you grind stumps? +
Our SC70TX stump grinder can cut up to about 16 inches below grade in suitable conditions. Actual depth depends on utilities, rocks, slope, roots, and whether the area is being finished for grass, mulch, or replanting.
Can your grinder fit through my backyard gate? +
Sometimes, but it needs a measured path. The SC70TX is roughly 51 inches wide, so plan for about 52 inches of clear, level access plus room to turn. Tell us about gates, steps, slopes, retaining walls, and tight corners before we schedule.
Do I need an 811 utility locate before stump grinding? +
Many stump grinding jobs require a public utility locate, especially when grinding deep, working near the street, or working near marked service paths. We can handle the NC 811 submission for you when it is needed and build the required waiting period into scheduling. Private lines such as irrigation, landscape lighting, propane, pool, septic, or invisible fence lines may need separate locating.
